These are mostly seen in rural areas because most people in villages depend on agriculture, which involves frequent use of water. Not only that, many women and girls are also seen to be affected by various types of skin diseases. Additionally, exposure to sunlight causes different kinds of diseases. These diseases include eczema, fungal infections, scabies, hives, dandruff, psoriasis, ringworm, etc. Among these, the most common diseases are ringworm and fungal infections.** --- ### What is a skin disease? A skin disease affects the skin or causes various problems to the skin and spreads. Simply put, skin disease refers to various ailments of the skin. --- ### What causes skin diseases? The causes and types of skin diseases vary. The types of skin diseases caused by infections depend on the infectious agents involved. Generally, such infectious agents include various types of bacteria, viruses, protozoa, fungi, etc. Diseases like diabetes, lupus, stress, and pregnancy increase the likelihood of skin diseases. In addition, skin diseases may also occur due to allergies, autoimmune reactions, and similar causes. --- ### What are the symptoms of skin diseases? The symptoms of all skin diseases are not the same. In other words, symptoms appear according to the type and cause of the skin disease. Not all skin diseases cause itching. Also, there are some skin problems that are not skin diseases, such as skin problems on the waist caused by tight belts, blisters on the feet due to shoes, and rashes caused by wearing rough fabric. Generally, the symptoms of various skin diseases include: * Blisters on the skin * Pain or itching in the skin * Rough or coarse skin * Peeling of the skin * Discolored patches on the skin * Excessive flushing * Wounds or ulcers on the skin (called skin ulcers) * Fluid discharge from wounds
